Jaenicke's Root Beer Stand - Kankakee

Jaenicke is my white castle. We live in St. Joseph, Illinois, and because their reds are like cracks on a bun, I and my friends make random road trips in summer to go all the way up to a Jaenicke's fix. Better than any gourmet restaurant, this place is amazing food, good people and classic Americana. If they ever close, I could just die.

This position has split the rolls above instead of the side. This is an old fashion red hot. Cash only in this place. Loves the sauce on the dogs. Completely unique taste.

Some kind of hot dogs and great root berry swimming. Friendly staff. Tradition best.

Hasn't Jaenicke been here for 25 years... I'm sitting here in Texas, still thinking about the bad sauce halls.
