I'm giving this place a LAST 5-STAR for being so great with their quality of food. I'm going to miss this short-lived corner spot at Windward Mall's food court. YES. ITS TRUE AND ITS SAD. They're CLOSED!! :
Filipino cuisine at Windward Mall in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii... Because the first location of Pampanga Kitchen (at Windward City Shopping Center is so successful, this second location of Pampanga Kitchen opened up recently at Windward Mall 's Food Court. (It took the place of I Love Country Cafe. If you park by Macy 's, enter the Mall through the door next to Big City Diner. Papanga Kitchen is the first vendor on the left right before Subway. I 've been eyeing Pampanga Kitchen for a while and planned my move... The free parking at the mall is a plus so is the pleasant environment with socially distanced tables. I wanted to eat my Lechon kawali right away fresh while the pork skin was still krispy ! Finally, on an uncrowded day, I placed my order for plate #M13 because it was the most well rounded with variety... Veggies, starch, and meat! 1. The pinakbet had yummy pumpkin in it which contrasted well with the long Beans and okra. 2. I like noodles in general, so, the thin noodles of the pancit did not disappoint. 3. The Lechon kawali... Oh, wow... I hope no one I knew watched me eat because I was really enjoying the flavorful, juicy, tender meat which had crisp skin attached to it... How do they make this greatness??? Aisus!!! I need more!!! I will return for the halohalo ...and the lumpia...and the garlic shrimp...and the munggo beans... And pork shanghai...and oxtail soup... and sari sari... And pork guisantes... And tupig!!! Mmm... Just thinking about it makes me hungry!!! I will go now!!!
Seems like they need a better front of house. They seem very disorganized for being such a slow day at the mall. There are 4 people, I'm assuming chefs, in the back running around back and forth. A single person doing the cashiering and taking orders and bagging orders. A customer has #26 and they're calling #30 and he's been waiting a good 15 minutes already. As far as food goes it's pretty good. The food is hot and tasty. Lechon Kewali was very good and well seasoned. The tomato and onion seasoning is excellent. The diniguan is also great here. They give a lot of rice so you could possibly share 1 plate with 2-3 people.
I was so excited to try this restaurant, ordered take out. So disappointed, the food didn't taste good. The meat was all fat, and it was jasmine rice. The staff was not friendly. Needless to say, I won't order again.
