Obviously this chain has no competition left in Canada. Maybe if Olive Garden or another was in town, maybe prices and portions would be a lot more generous.Listed below are what is wrong with this chain.1) Free salad totally bland and very cheap on ingredients, no wonder it's free.2) $20 for Chicken Parm (1 piece of chicken ) - In the states regularly , you get 2 breasts per order or 1 extra large one that is double size of Eastside 's . 3.) Pasta with Chicken Parm overcooked and lucky to get a spoonful or 2 on plate Pasta is your cheapest food, their money maker. but skimping on pasta on entree's is just taking Rip Off to another level.Service was good and taste of chicken Parm. was Ok not best we ever had but passable. I have to say that if you are hungry, this is not the place to eat unless you fill up on their bread
What to say about this restaurant. I and my family enjoyed their recipes. We ordered one penne with sauce for our children. They loved it and me as well as I tasted few pasta. Sauce was really simple and basil based and the flavor was pretty interesting. I ordered a burger with a crispy and tender peace of chicken topped with parmigiana sauce. I loved it. My wife had a pasta covered with a thin slice of chicken breast and parmigiana sauce topping on it. The bill was regular. We paid the right price. Just a mention for the Italian waitress. She was really nice and polite. Thank you for your service.
There were nine of us for dinner and the 8-yr old had the best meal of all of us, a pizza from the kids menu. How sad is that?! We ordered main course items from various parts of the menu but no one was satisfied with their meal. They cheaped-out big time on many items. Soup was a half-bowl. Gee thanks, so much? The pizzza from the 12 for $12 menu was a disgrace, like a cheap frozen pizza from a box. We only went there because one of us has Celiac disease and this restaurant knows what it means to serve gluten-free food. (Many restaurants still don't know.) If I ever have to go again - hope not - I'm going to order the pizza from the kids menu. The service was very good, quick and accurate - no complaints at all.
Thank you to all East Side Mario staff on Terry Fox, Ottawa, during our special lunch! It was so great of them to let us bring our own decorations and cake. The service was amazing; fast, efficient, helpful and friendly. The food and atmosphere were fantastic. We very much appreciate everything that was done to make it a great occasion
