Had the best masale dosae of my life here. Hotel Vasu is a well known restaurant in Kanakapura and I happened to visit on my way to Pyramid Valley. The dosaes here are a perfect combination of crunch and softness and the quantity is just too great! Melt in the mouth fantastic. It’s always packed because of its popularity. The prices are very nominal. A dosae costs ₹40 and filter coffee ₹10. Since it’s a small place please don’t expect ambience. Just go for good food and vibes and you won’t be disappointed. Their Dil leaves amboDe (falafel type baji) is fantastic, along with makhmal poori as dessert. Owner is a very sweet person too. I was reading other reviews here and was actually disappointed how some are badmouthing about this great place. Some people act like they’re some great food bloggers when they actually know nothing about food and expect Taj like experience everywhere for ₹40 dosa. It’s sad and hilarious at the same time Anyway, try their food and hope you like it. P.S. like I said it’s a small space so figure out parking on your own. Explore Kanakapura the way you should
The restaurant has been here for 7 decades (75yrs to be exact). Must visit places for South Indian breakfast in Kanakapura. The place is always crowded but you get enough space to stand and have breakfast. Dosa tastes awesome. Coffee is strong and authentic. There is no dedicated parking. One needs to park on the road.
Loved the place The long masala dosa with spicy awesome chutney is simply awesome Unlike other places, where u can actually eat like 2 dosas, this is not one such. One dosa is sooooo big n crispy and properly cooked, and nice aaloo palya. We were 5 of us, so we did have a plate of bhajji, rice bath and curd rice Rice bath was ok ok i felt, or we were late, maybe it wouldn't been better in the morning If ur around Kanakpura for a Trek or anything, do go here, without falling for the small entry/board of this hotel It's worth it
One of the oldest and best hotel in Kanakpura. You can find it in main road near Ksrtc busy stand. Masale dose is the best here. Idli Vada was average. Also gulab jamoon was good and justifies it's name as they have added gulab flavour to its water. It's always crowded and hard to find a place to stand on weekends. Service is quick. Prices are also reasonable.
