Waimea Ranch House - KAMUELA

Just remember that you’re on Hawaiian time, so don’t expect the staff to hurry up just because you are. The motto here is "Big Island Mo' Bettah.” I’ve observed that locals often deliver slower service to those who are in a rush. This is one of the top dining spots in the Kamuela area unless you prefer the resorts. It's famous for its excellent steaks, ribs, and more.

I understand that there's a new owner. This restaurant is a nice spot for a meal, though it doesn't offer any views. The service was satisfactory. I observed many local patrons enjoying a special dinner. The ribs were quite good and portions were generous! I noticed another reviewer had a negative experience, but it seems like they've improved things since then. That said, the service could still be a bit slow at times.

The service was slow and unsatisfactory. After nearly two hours, my husband finally received his meal, and a while later, the waitress informed me that they were out of the prime rib I had ordered! She asked if I wanted to choose something else, but I wasn't interested in waiting any longer. There was no apology, no compensation, and no helpful suggestions—just a surly waitress who seemed to want to avoid us. To top it off, they attempted to charge us for my meal, which I never received! I will definitely not be returning.

As a business traveler, I've had the pleasure of dining in many major food cities, but I want to highlight a true gem right here in our small town: Waimea Ranch House. From the fresh focaccia to the incredible steaks and the lettuce grown right outside, this place is simply wonderful.

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality we received at Waimea Ranch House for dinner right after the holidays! We were welcomed with a warm smile from the hostess who seated us. I believe she is new because we had never seen her before, but she was fantastic. She made sure our water glasses were always filled and maintained a cheerful demeanor throughout our visit! It was a very busy night, but she continuously radiated warmth with her smile… Excellent!
