They use quality ingredients from Japan, like their rice, as well as locally sourced ingredients from nearby farms like organic vegetables. Their food is delicious and they use ocean wise seafood choices for all their fish fishes. They also have a mini Japanese store in the front where they sell take away bento boxes, a variety of imported treats, bags of rice, origami kits and cute ceramics from Japan. I lived in Japan for a few years and this is the only Japanese restaurant in Kamloops that I'll eat at. Having tried a number of others, where the prices might be slightly lower but the fish and ingredient quality is not on par, this is an authentically Japanese run restaurant with delicious food. A great option in the summer as well to take a bento box to the park!
Enjoyed a great dinner here. Food was well presented and tasted great. Prices were a bit high but was very happy with the experience.
An excellent Japanese restaurant in Kamloops! And excellent quality as well! I ordered nigiri sushi, and miso soup. The soup was average but the nigiri sushi was excellent and for a very fair price. I would eat here again in an instant even though the atmosphere is very quirky: it is half Asian food store and half diner-type restaurant. But the food is great.
We used to order from Sanbiki a few times a month but recently, we have had several disappointing visits. A few weeks ago, we called in an order for pick up and we were quoted a price. When we went to pick it up, it cost 8 dollars more than we were told so we politely asked why and we were told it was because they charge for take out containers and the menu prices weren't updated. When we got home to have our meal (ramen with some sushi), My husband's ramen had only a few noodles and was almost all broth and my sushi, which was supposed to be a dynamite roll, only had deep fried crust and shredded lettuce in rice and seaweed wrap - no prawn, no avocado, nothing. I tried to contact them via their website in hopes that they would want to amend our experience but the website wouldn't even send my concerns. With all the awesome places to have Sushi in Kamloops, I would NOT recommend anyone go to Sanbiki. If you are looking for an awesome place to have ramen, I highly suggest Tiger Ramen in Sahali - excellent service and excellent food.
We found this restaurant on TripAdviser and decided to try it out. Food was tasty but a bit pricey for what we got. Only one cook was on so food took awhile to arrive. Friendly service. This restaurant also sells Japanese snacks and other Japanese food items so you can cook at home. Worth visiting.
