The service was ok, we were told to seat ourselves and waited a while for the waitress to come and take our order.
Terrible experience, went in there and the one of the waitresses welcomed us and told us to find a seat.
This used to be the best place in town for halibut and fries. Boy has that changed. Fries, ordered as a side, arrived cold. My wife's starter calamari was totally overcooked as was my main course of halibut. (The fish inside the batter was tough to cut through it was so overdone. )Please Joeys, bring back the succulent properly cooked seafood we used to enjoy.
We have always been keen and regularly supporters of Joey's, but that's about to change. The new menu has completely messed up the eating experience . It used to be reasonably priced, excellent food. Then it drifted to pricey but reasonable food. Sadly, with the advent of the new menu...it's become very expensive barely mediocre food. Service wasn't good either...poor girl was run off her feet and we heard her apologize to other guests "for the wait" on several occasions. When our food arrived (once we'd got over the minuscule portion of calamari - which is a relatively cheap thing to buy at the store - we realized that the ridiculous mound of fries (so you still think you're getting good value for money) were cold. We sent them back and then when our main course (finally) arrived - the tiny piece of halibut (okay I know it's expensive stuff) was completely over cooked and dried out. Honestly...either increase the price or decrease the portions but don't do both. You're ripping people off. And don't think that all your guests are fooled by the mountain of fries. That's not why they go to Joey's. You can eat your weight in fries at any fast food joint!!
