Kalona Brewing Company

Bartenders could not have been more friendly and helpful. We only had beer, this time no food, but they have a variety of beer styles. Everyone we had was good. Overall a very nice environment.

We had wonderful food, great local brew, and fun with the bartenders. We will certainly be back! The Black and Blue brick oven pizza should be a staple on the menu!! There wasn't any sours on tap, but the Red Rover was very tasty. And my husband's Horsepower and Sheer Madness was really good, he said. Awesome find for a couple from Mount Pleasant looking for a good meal after a country drive. High five, KBC!

If you haven't tried the wood-fired pizza from Kalona Brewing, you're truly missing out. The pizza is incredible, topped with perfectly chosen ingredients, and the cheese curds are roasted to perfection—they simply melt in your mouth! The atmosphere is fantastic, and the music was just right. The only thing my brother wished for was a TV for watching the playoff game, but that's just a small detail. Overall, it's a wonderful restaurant. The bartender, Brian, was excellent—he mixed up some impressive drinks and even let us sample a few of their brews. The Horse Power is a delightful light beer, and the peach brew strikes a perfect balance, not too sweet and with a lovely hint of cinnamon.

For my main course, I ordered the NY Steak, which had a tender, filet-like texture. It was well-presented alongside polenta and sauce, making for an appealing dish. The fish and chips were also quite good, although the fish was slightly overcooked, which has happened to me at other restaurants that serve fish and chips. I politely mentioned this, and the staff corrected it to my satisfaction. Mistakes don’t ruin my experience as long as they're handled well, and they certainly did. I enjoyed trying a few different IPAs and was pleased with the selection, which was larger and more varied than I remembered. Since beer preferences are very subjective, I’ll leave it to you to decide if you’d like to visit Kalona Brewing Company. Cheers!

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, and they had an impressive selection of beers to choose from. The menu offered a wide variety, catering to different tastes. I loved the open layout of the place; one half was a cozy hangout area complete with Scrabble and a decorative fire pit, while the other half focused on food and beverage orders. I even took home a growler of their blueberry beer!
