We received an additional short stack of pancakes which weren’t ordered. As soon as they arrived we informed the waiter and he told us the mistake was our fault and because ‘it’d gone into the system’ he wasn’t allowed to cancel it or offer to take it off the bill. We spoke to another waiter 15 minutes later and were told that forcing someone to buy something they didn’t order, wasn’t their policy but because the manager wasn’t there, there was nothing he could do. I’ve honestly have never been told I had to buy something because a waiter refused to accept he made a mistake. He finally told us to pack the pancakes for takeaway and give them to a homeless person.
This was our first trip to Du-Pars and it was truly great. We were there for breakfast around 8a on a Thursday and the wait was maybe 15 minutes. Not bad but it was on 4th of July and a lot of people left the city so we were lucky. We had the Famous pancakes and they are the best in the world. The butter on the pancakes is chefs kiss . The pancakes are so delicious you don’t even need syrup. My mom had the bacon, eggs, and hash browns. My mom did ask for cheese on her eggs and they came back with none they quickly fixed her whole order over. Per my mom the eggs were scrambled perfectly. The only negative about Du-Pars is that they don’t have a location back home we have to fly to Cali for it but we will be back next year!!!!!
Chocolate chip pancakes were very good. Patty melt 7/10.
The ambiance is American coffee shop ; glossy red vinyl tuck n ' roll booths. Glassy wood grain tables with chrome edges. I was there when it was quite empty of patrons, but service and our order was slow, considering they had maybe only 4 tables waiting. Nonetheless, the food was quite decent, if a little expensive, (like everything else lately). My omelette was a little on the dry side, but filled nicely with cheddar and bacon, topped with avocado and served hot with nice hash browns and a muffin. My companion had sausage and eggs, with the same potatoes and sourdough toast. He enjoyed it all. I think from learning on past visits, I would recommend the hotcakes, even done well in kooky flavors! Bon appetit.
The place is Great. But, you have to wait 40 minutes for your food. Complementary parking 90 minutes. Good Luck
