Shawarma King No. 3 - Kalamazoo

We have always loved going here with friends and family. The food is always delicious, staff is kind and buffet is great. But recently during peak summer time a staff member was very rude to us when we brought to light that one of the dishes was spoilt. We understand that due to COVID, the food may have had to sit out longer and there was a reduced crowd going out to eat. But if your customer tells you something is spoilt so that no one else eats it by mistake, it is for your benefit! We did not even ask for a refund or replacement.The owner spoke to us a few days later and was very kind and understanding. The photos included are of a few of the dishes on their menu. The shish kafta is delicious and Salad is very refreshing and are a must try!

Whenever we come to Kalamazoo we have to stop here! My husband is from the middle east and we both love middle eastern food and consider ourselves quite the experts. ; We both have only gotten the buffet. I'm a vegetarian and they have plenty of vegetarian options and my husband loves meat and he says the meat is good. They have the best falafel I've had at a restaurant. It's so light and crispy on the outside and delicious. In fact I had a bit of everything(except meat and everything was delicious. Last time I was there I had to ask them what type of oil they use because everything was so good I figured it had to have something to do with the oil they use. The buffet is decent sized, wouldn't say they have a ton of stuff but definently enough. Last time we were there the service was really good the time before that not so much, it took forever to get a drink refill I went and got it myself.

Delicious. The chicken shawarma entree is my go to. I love eating it with pita bread. The rice is fantastic. Sometimes the chicken can be on the dry side which is a bummer but overall this place is great. 1 entree is enough for 2 meals, easily. They have very large portion sizes but the price is very affordable. Their soups are also wonderful as well. Only critique I have is to get away from the use of styrofoam to-go containers. They’re not only flimsy, leak, and break easy but are horrible for the earth, toxic, and cannot be recycled. Please upgrade to something better!

I hereby declare the Westnedge Shawarma King the undisputed KING of all Shawarma 's! Many have imitated and many have failed. No other locations on the west side of Michigan can compare to the quality of both food and customer service. I frequent Shawarma King for the lunch time buffet and have never once been disappointed. I often refer to this location as a hidden gem within Kalamazoo. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The buffet is impeccably cleaned and maintained. The food offering is diverse, authentic and incredibly flavorful! I can not say enough good things about this restaurant and the staff the make it such a treat to dine at. I will be a life long customer and their biggest fan!

This is the first time my husband and I tried Shawarma King. The staff was friendly and friendly. The waitress we had was very attentive, like the one she took. The food at the hot bar and salad bar was delicious. I had the beef Shawarma, biryani rice, okra, and green beans along with some baba ghanoush and it was all well seasoned and tasteful. My husband had the chicken Shawarma and lamb meatballs and he loved them. All I know is that, we will definitely go back because everything we had was amazing.
