The “21” owes its name to its location on the upper floor of the Kaiserslauterner Rathaus at a height of 72 m. The restaurant is located in 21. Stock! Last summer, my husband and I started the first attempt of a dinner here (without reservation). The Friday evening “After Work Party” was fully underway, so we were looking for a quieter destination. Panoramic views can be enjoyed from the large outdoor terrace. September 2017 Now my friend and husband invited her daughter’s birthday to “21”. Sunday evening it is pleasantly quiet there. We were looking forward to it. Five, we're on our way to downtown. Since Sunday night we even found free parking. Last year we felt that the construction was very unused at the end of the 1960s. Nothing has happened here for decades. I was hoping for the functionality of the elevator. The restaurant cannot do anything for these points, but the city of Kaiserslautern urgently needs to improve the appearance. Finally, the office is also in the building. At the top we were kindly greeted in the modern restaurant and accompanied to our reserved on the window. Our table was simple and clean with table runners and fabric napkins. Opposite the entrance there is a Theken lounge area, here it can be louder. In our area, this bar was only visited by two people. The friendly staff gave the menus on a clamping board. Classics are complemented with “Specials”, this change seasonal. Mineral water was of course not missing. Open wines were offered by the winery Knoll Vogel. As an appetizer for both of us: pumpkin cream soup with shrimp in crispy bowl € 6.50. Pumpkin cream soup with shrimps in the crispy coat Very hot served, with very good pumpkin taste, pleasantly spicy, convincing. The shrimps are placed laterally on a wooden skewer. A good idea so that the shrimps do not bathe in the soup and remained crispy outside! A good start! The main course of my husband: Linguine with shrimp and cherry tomato in garlicsugo € 13.50 Linguine with shrimp and cherry tomato served in garlicsugo A plentiful portion in the preheated deep plate. Pasta and shrimp cooked to the point. A good spices with herbs and garlic. I chose the Tagliatelle with Asian roasted salmon cubes and spinach € 14,50 Tagliatelle with Asian roasted salmon cubes and spinach also plentiful and well seasoned, with the Asian spices very much. The salmon cubes fried juicy. Unfortunately, before the gray Trandy was not removed, I don't like it at all. I was allowed to try the dinkelpasta at the table with fresh spinach, cherry tomatoes, goat cheese and roasted pine nuts €11.50. Dinkelpasta with fresh spinach, cherry tomatoes, goat cheese and roasted pine nuts Also very good. The ladies in the service were all very friendly and attentive, could give good information. From the service also the attentive question whether the child (as without an appetizer) should get the main course served beforehand.
