Chubby's Diner - Kailua Kona

The first time to eat Chubby’s diner and it didn’t disappoint! My order: 1. Furikake fries: the best furikake I have so far! Absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. Portion was huge!! Furikake wasn't just tipped on fries, it was more embedded in the outside of the fries and didn't just fall off as it was blown up afterwards. 2. Oriental chicken salad with balsamvinaigrette: the Teriyaki chicken was tasteful and had the perfect amount of Teriyaki. It was not overwhelming and the Romaine was crispy. Absolutely loved the balsamic dressing, wonder if this might be done in the house? They gave me the right amount of dressing on the side, so I could control how much was put on, which was a nice touch. 3. Korean chicken wing with Hapa rice and Mac salad: crispy and delicious! Mac Salat was also top notch. Win us a solid amount of wings at the price. Overall, deeeelicious food, hefty portions, and all around great experience. Very recommended! Keep the great work, buddy!

Food was excellent, shocked to find good local food at an arcade but delicious. Staff was friendly, would recommend.

We stopped by for late lunch. This place is located inside the entertainment center where you can play games, but we were there for the food. We ordered the mixed plate with fried shrimp and kalbi ribs. The place comes with rice and macaroni salad. We also had the furikake chicken which also comes with rice and macaroni salad. We liked the food, the kalbi ribs was the favorite . The atmosphere is pretty chill. Aloha.

Fun atmosphere with games and activities to keep you busy and entertained. Great menu variety. Our meals came out hot, fresh, and in a timely manner. Staff was friendly and helpful as well.

I was disappointed with my meal at this restaurant. The fish of the day (Mahi) that I ordered was grilled and extremely dry, with an overwhelming amount of raw garlic on top that made it difficult to eat. I appreciated that the kitchen was still open at 10pm, but I regretted spending $27 (including tip) on a meal that I struggled to finish. The option to substitute a side salad for the typical mac salad was a positive aspect, as I am not a fan of mac salad. Perhaps I should have chosen the Oxtail or something fried, as those seem to be popular choices among other customers.
