The abundance of seating areas provided ample choices for relaxation, and I was able to find the perfect spot to unwind. However, I must admit that the dry brisket left something to be desired in terms of tenderness and flavor. Despite this minor setback, the overall experience at Julian Beer Co was delightful. Parking can be challenging on a busy day.
For a brewery, the food is excellent. We had the brisket sandwich and the Mountain Fire Pizza. The brisket sandwich was great and so was the pizza. We ordered the pizza well done, but it still could’ve been cooked a little longer. Nevertheless, flavors were very good. Also, the pizza is huge. It can easily feed 4 people, or 3 hungry people. It’s also great that this place has outdoor seating for people with dogs and that it is open later than most places in Julian.
I absolutely love barbecue so it was a must that we stopped here. The line was a bit long but it moved quickly which was nice. They have plenty of outdoor seating so you can enjoy your food and people watch at the same time. I ordered the pork belly and it was phenomenal. The pork was smoky and felling off the bone! You can tell it was cooked really well and didn't need any sauce. The price was about what you expect to pay for good barbecue and that is exactly what we got.
Stopped in for lunch on a Friday at noon. We were about 15th in line! Some good food options. We tried the smoked wings (large and meaty) the brisket sandwich (thick and better than I thought) and the kielbasa which was AMAZING. Lots of beers to drink, tons of inside and outside seating. This is THE place in Julian.
Ordered a couple of brisket sandwiches and watermelon through their website allowing us to skip the line. Service was pretty quick and we were able to sit outside at a table with our dog. Very impressed with the quality of the meat and they had BBQ sauce available (seemed homemade) which was an excellent addition to the sandwich. Definitely recommend!
