Ems Original Sub Shop - Johnstown

I recently had a fantastic cheesesteak at Emms! One of the great advantages of this place is that they have bathrooms available, which is not something you find in most downtown restaurants. I’m definitely planning to return to Emms—I’ve been stopping by quite frequently lately. I also tried one of their wraps recently, and it was wonderful. Even though there are other eateries nearby, I keep coming back here because I love their food and the variety they provide. Just the other day, I discovered they offer platters and catering options for parties. The platter I saw being picked up looked amazing, so now I know exactly where to go for that!

The food was pretty good, but it really depends on what you order from the deli's menu. They had a nice variety, including sandwiches and fried foods. There were also at least four drink coolers available. The only reason I didn't rate it five stars is that the customer service could use improvement; the staff appeared indifferent and seemed reluctant to assist.

When my daughter was at the vocational school across the street, we made it a point to stop by for lunch. Their subs are reminiscent of the ones I enjoyed growing up in Northern New Jersey. The bread is just right, and they achieve the perfect balance of vegetables, oil, and red wine vinaigrette! I often brought home two Torpedos to Harrisburg with me. If you find yourself in town and are in the mood for an authentic sub, this is the place to go!
