Blackbird Market - Johns Island

Blackbird was excellent! I went there with a close friend and we had a wonderful time eating and laughing together. It might have been the good company, the delicious food, or perhaps a bit of both. We couldn’t stop praising how great our meals were. I ordered the Rachel sandwich, and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in ages. My side was a salad and a pickle, which had a unique flavor that I really enjoyed! If you're considering trying Blackbird, don't hesitate—I know I’ll be back whenever I'm in the area again.

Giving a 3 because I didn't get to try anything. Local James Islander here, was on way back from lunching at Freshfields and wanted to see if i could grab some lunch necessities for Saturday. Walk in and there are some fresh vegs and bread to right of door. Bread has NO prices on it, I look around for a few and make my way to the dessert counter( as I would call it) because I see some rolls and bread on too shelf. Im all of 5?2 so I was kind of standing on my tips when I heard someone say??Thats NOT for sale?. There is a girl behind the counter back towards me and All I can think is she is saying it and I didnt ask nor did she turn around. So I walk over to the counter and see some pound cake and go to look at it, she comes out from behind counter and I ask If you sell bread and her SHARP CURT response was ?THATS NOT BREAD ITS POUND CAKE and NO?. First I knew it was pound cake and I asked about BREAD because both products are baked. Her attitude and response made me decide that yall must not want NEW business so I didnt purchase anything and left. If my employees acted that way to any customers I would be embarassed! So we left, my question was going to be about the two loaves of bread that were above the vegetables for sale. One looked like a french loaf and the other a grain of some sort . I just wanted to know if they were for sale because they were ON FLOORSELVES. Because of her attitude I decided not to try anything and leave..I will go somewhere with better customer service. The 3 ratings is only because I have heard great things about your food, but we will not be back to try. Disappointed!

My husband went back in and we had a much better experience every once and a while people have their off days. Food is great.

Blackbird Farms Market is a true local gem! Love the fact Blackbird is a farm to table establishment. I have found the staff to always be helpful and knowledgeable. Each day, Blackbird showcases a chef 's entree. Their Chicken Parmesan is one of my favorites and every entree that I 've ordered has been delicious!!!

The food here is excellent! The restaurant is always clean, and the service is friendly and quick. I really appreciate the grocery store as well; it has come to my rescue numerous times when I've run out of something. I enjoy the selection of local products and fresh produce, and the weekday food specials are fantastic. The homemade chicken pot pies are simply amazing!
