Actually it's the one in mall of the south but I couldn't find it here. This is my favourite restaurant. You know that restaurant that you wouldn't mind giving the waiters tips because everything is so perfect .... oh yeah this is the one
I've got a soft spot for Thai food especially dishes with cashew nuts in them. I'm so glad that I now have 2 Simply Asias near me. I ate at the branch in Mall of the South recently. We were 4 of us 2 adults and 2 kids and tried 4 different dishes. Everyone enjoyed it, including my kids who normally prefer burgers and pizzas.<br/ <br/ We even had dessert!
I just got accepted into an Honours postgraduate programme and my family treated me to dinner. As I have been to a Simply Asia before, I knew I would not be disappointed! <br/ <br/ I was looking to have an informal evening where the flavour of my dish would steal the show. Simply Asia literally bursts with flavours from the first bite right up until the last. They have mastered contrast in such a way whereby your tastebuds are tingling with diversity.<br/ <br/ As a starter, I opted for their prawn spring rolls. The pastry is light as a feather and the prawn is the jewel tightly wrapped. The sweet chili sauce compliments the natural sweetness that prawns evoke. As for my main, I ordered an egg rice dish that had calamari, prawns (sensing a theme) and an array of vegetables. The portion was literally a tower on my plate. It was rather spicy, but I feel that it spices up seafood as it can be rather bland if not seasoned correctly. The rice was far from dry and the egg component adds a hint of richness to the dish. My other half ordered a noodle dish that had duck and cashew nuts. I am not one for duck, but the aroma was enticing. If we had room in our stomachs, we would have tried their chocolate spring rolls for dessert! <br/ <br/ The only fault I can give this branch is that they do not have a liquor license. It would have been nice to pair my food with a good glass of wine.<br/ <br/ I guess you can say the evening was 'sweet and sour '.
Simply Asia was a hit for me from the moment I had it the first time. The service in this outlet is almost non-existent but I went in and got my usual- 514 it 's amazing and the cashew nuts just add that extra bit of amazing flavour. I always have it with medium heat which is the Nandos equivalent of hot (I love 'hot ' food that delivers on its promise . Simply Asia does this beautifully.<br/ <br/ The sushi here is also quite good and it is prepared really quickly and meticulously.<br/ <br/ *Do yourself a favour also, just once, order the meal as a take away so that you can feel like you 're in a 90 's American movie as you eat your noodles out of a little cardboard box with chopsticks :
