Takayama Restaurant Bar - Jindabyne

The last time we visited Jindabyne, this restaurant was closed for its annual holidays, so we were thrilled to be able to dine here this time around. The food was fantastic, featuring some creative dishes that incorporate local ingredients, such as the smoked trout nori rolls. Their miso soup is excellent as well, made with a delicious red miso broth and enoki mushrooms. The online booking system is a breeze to use, which is essential since they tend to be quite busy. The staff were friendly, and the location is charming, tucked away behind the shopping center or accessible via the wooden stairs that lead up to the pub near Woolworths.

The ramen was nothing like traditional ramen; it resembled a basic miso soup instead. However, the chicken dishes were excellent. We also ordered a salad, but all the dishes were served at the same time, which seemed unnecessary. On a positive note, the staff was wonderful and very friendly.

We had a wonderful and delicious dinner at Takayama! From the appetizers to the dessert, everything was exceptional. If you're in the area, be sure not to miss this place—make sure to book in advance!

This was our second visit in 3 days. Again it didn’t disappoint with fantastic service by the friendly staff. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The wines by the glass and Sapporo beer on tap were also very reasonable. Highly recommend
