The food was served fresh and was delicious, not overly spiced or under, balanced perfectly. Couldn't finish the meals between two of us. Didn't match previous reviews we read
I visited Namaste on a Sunday night, mainly because there wasn't much else open in Jindabyne in the summer months. Given it was the only restaurant (other than pub/club), we were still the only ones there at 7pm. They are on the first floor and you will need to carry a stroller up, however there is ample storage in the restaurant. They also have a high chair. While the restaurant has air conditioning, it wasn't turned on - and it was quite hot - in March. Being on the first floor you do get a very good view of Lake Jindabyne. The menu is quite predictable, however they are not licensed and also don't have anything other than Coke or like cans (no lassi). We ordered the mixed entree and tandoori platter for starters and it was all too spicy. The only thing my kids could eat was the pastry for the samosa and the spring rolls. For mains we had the Vegetable Navratan Korma, which was actually quite nice however too sweet. The Chicken Tikka Masala was just too oily with a layer of oil on top of the bowl. The naans were nice. For dessert we decided to try the kulfi and it was just too hard and frozen and icy - not creamy as it should be.Overall a very ordinary night.
Been hear before and was very disappointed. But thought I'd try again incase they were having an off day. Ordered some entrees and waitress refused to give us any yoghurt to go with it which is standard at every other Indian restaurant I have ever been too. Then ordered some lamb dishes and the meat was very tuff and grisly. When asked how our meal was, I mentioned the meat and the waitress said " But the sauce was fine", then walked off. I could have accepted the food not being up to par, but the attitude of the staff ruined it. They were very rude and unacommerdating. I gave them a second chance, so will never return again.
Taste wise just usual, service mix bag. One of the staff was rude but others were so humble and so friendly. It's a busy place so make sure you've bookings before you rock up.
We ,a family of 6 Visited this restaurant on 29th July at about 1900 Hrs on our return Journey from Thredbo, a Skiing Village. It was a disgusting experience, to be told by one of the attendant ,( a local girl,), in a very impolite way that they cant accommodate any more , since they were expecting reserved guests in half an hour and they are short of staff.( Just short of saying Get the hell out of here ")It is against the Indian culture to refuse to entertain some who had come to eat.Any way, this was a blessing in disguise, since my DIL , prepared delicious Indian food at our Motel. As fate would have it, we ended up in this very restaurant , yesterday 1300 Hrs, only to find too may empty tables, but a " beautiful looking girl: according ceremonial welcome- a pleasant change. She was the lone staff yesterday, in addition to the cooks. We ordered quick lunch of Panner Butter Masala, Dhall Tadka, Naan .Superb , soft , delicious roti, ( Indian Bread) the dishes were extremely good, honestly i did not expect such a good taster in an obscure part of Australia. The cooks are genuinely Indian( rather South Indian) The cost was very reasonableDelicious food, quantity is quite sufficient
