Kinor BaKikar (in Hebrew: Violin in the square) is an elegant chef's restaurant, that provides an excellent option for traditional people looking for gourmet kosher food. The restaurant places an emphasis on meat dishes and also serves fish, seasonal salads and breads. At the very heart of the restaurant is a Josper oven, especially brought over from Italy, where the meat is roasted. The restaurant, located in the Jerusalem Music Square, offers an excellent combination of fine food and live music performances on a daily basis. Grab a table at open area, which overlooks Music Square to enjoy the live performances.
It used to be good, it is not anymore. After waiting forever to get the food, I semt it back because it was soooo salty. My friend ate by herself and I got my food later. The meat was rare, but i wasnt going to semd it back again, so i managed to eat half.. the puree was tastless and not warm, the sauce seems to be from a bottle.. Service is ok. Food is terrible. We used to go and enjoy but lately its not what it was
Really nice restaurant, good music, local people. Just a pity that the lamb chops were not medium cooked as asked, but almost raw.
Last time we ate at Kinor Bakikar, the food was good, but the place seemed a bit short-staffed, and there was a swarm of flies in the entrance. I lost my appetite, but my son still wanted to come back for his early birthday lunch. (We still plan to take him to Andalucia in Kikar Hamuzika for his birthday dinner. When the day before his birthday arrived (yesterday , we found the place empty of customers and the chef informed us that they no longer had a business lunch deal, which seemed to be a surprise to the waitress who had just shown us the business lunch menu. I guess that explains why the place was empty. To whoever owns this restaurant, either bring back the business lunch deal, fire the chef for lying about it being cancelled because he's too lazy to do his job, or close the restaurant from 2-5 pm. You're losing money by keeping an empty restaurant open. We're looking forward to taking our son to Andalucia for dinner later today. As for lunch yesterday, we went to his second-favorite restaurant: Smokehouse in the shuk. We spent 205 shekels for one asado, two soups, and two kinds of fries, plus tip. It's not a fancy place, but my son loves the food.
