Rooftop At Exchange Place - Jersey City

Honestly, I was blown away from this place. It gives the best of views and the food was amazing. I highly recommend this place especially for date nights. I will be coming back here soon! The drinks were good too!

Bad service and terrible food especially for vegetarians

I discovered this restaurant on Instagram, I was so excited to go. I planned date night. Excited with expectations that unfortunately we’re not met. It did not feel like a winter Wonderland aside from the minimal decorations at the doorway there was nothing else. My table was wobbly which was frustrating. I do want to say that they were extremely accommodating due to the rainy weather+traffic I was late and they did not have a problem with it. The waitress was lovely, but very forgetful. We ordered steak frites and lollipop wings w fries. My dates food came out and mine came about 10 minutes later. I did not even take pictures of my plate because the pictures on Instagram versus reality Were true disappointment same for the drink. It just looked like juice in a wine glass. The steak was tender, although a bit dry. My fries came out after I finished my wings and were extremely over seasoned to the point that I could not eat them because they were too salty. They had potential but were over seasoned. The first drink my date ordered was a Casamigos drink and it taste exactly like syrup+medicine. Eventually, they kindly swapped it out for a Casamigos margarita. The staff was lovely, I think I just had higher expectations. I will give it another go in the summertime, maybe the view would be a better distraction to entertain us for the long wait times for the food

The only good thing about this place is the location and view. Other than that, nothing was done to make this place live to it’s potential. First we were greeted by a the hostess who looked like she was bothered that we disturbed her from texting while in her PJs. The food is horrible, everything we tasted was under cooked and greasy. The decor is cheap as if it’s a pool restaurant in 1995. There’s kids running around and playing with their iPads out loud at 10pm. I simply cannot understand how the rooftop at the Hyatt can have such low standards.

The location is excellent with a stunning view of the entire NYC skyline. Additionally, the food was surprisingly good, making it a great experience overall.
