Peter's Steak House - Jensen Beach

This is the best steakhouse I've found. It shares many similarities with Peter Luger in Brooklyn. The food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the overall experience is wonderful. While it may not be budget-friendly, it's definitely worth the splurge. Service: Dine-in, Meal Type: Dinner, Price per person: $50–100.

I made a reservation by calling ahead and left a voicemail for a 5 PM booking. They said they would only call back if they could confirm the reservation. By 3 PM, when I hadn’t heard back, I assumed they were fully booked, which was fine. However, at 4:23 PM, they finally called to confirm the reservation! Do they really expect people to get ready and arrive on time with such short notice? No, thank you. Even when I visited a year ago, the food wasn’t that great considering the high prices. It’s not even in the same league as Ockeechobee or Bern's.

The hostess was fantastic, but the server was quite disappointing. Due to my recent surgery, I could only eat a few bites, so I ordered a cup of soup and a side, while my spouse opted for a steak. The server looked at us with disdain and huffed. She charged us a $5 split plate fee when I had just one bite of his steak, and it wasn't served on a separate plate. Additionally, there was a 3% convenience fee for reasons that were unclear. They also assumed we would be paying by credit card and added a 6.7% credit card processing fee. As a business owner myself, I only charge a 3.5% fee for credit card transactions, so it felt like they were profiting from customers using their cards—definitely shady practices. While the steak was tender, it was rather plain, which some might prefer. Unfortunately, we’ve decided to take our business to Longhorn instead for better prices and friendlier staff.
