Portlander Inn Marketplace

Just to be clear: Yes, this is basically attached to a truck stop, but please don't let that be a reason to overlook this hotel. I never noticed any noise from it, even with a room window facing the pumps. The front-desk staff were incredibly friendly and on the ball. Even though we shuffled in well after midnight. The room was /very/ clean. I've stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels with rooms that weren't as clean as this one. I don't know what they're doing differently, maybe actually paying their staff a proper wage or something...but whatever it is, it's working! Room was recently renovated, beds were comfortable, TV was a good size, there was a fridge and microwave in our room... it worked out quite well for us. Having a 24 hour grocery store attached was certainly handy as well. The only thing I can say against it, is not something within the Portlander's control. It's a rather industrial area, as one might expect. There's not much around it. A car is definitely needed to get anywhere. However, you can get into Portland proper very easily on the 5 or 99E.

Clean and quiet hotel. The workout room more like a broom closet) is a MAJOR disappointment also no wipes to clean equipment). Restaurants are priced high and aren't worth the price. A few of us truck drivers stay throughout the week, every week. They stopped giving us free breakfast coupons all of a sudden I don't know why). I'll purchase better quality and tasting food elsewhere. I'll continue to update as my stays continue.

To be honest for my first time in a hotel it was amazing, I felt safe and the food was delicious hopefully next time I could explore more

The hotel was not that good as I thought it would be the elevator broke and I had a room on the 4th floor and my father who was with me was disabled so he had to walk up and down four flights of stairs so I highly recommend anybody that's disabled do not stay at this hotel it is not reliable for the disabled.

We stopped in for a night at The Portlander this week. This facility is great. A mini resort. There’s a huge restaurant, laundry facilities, a convenience store, barber shop, movie theatre and a masseuse! We were able to get our clothes washed while we had a great dinner. The room was nice and clean. Breakfast at the large restaurant was included. A free, hot meal to start the day chosen from a pretty decent selection. If I ever return to Portland I would stay at The Portlander again.
