Matador East Portland - Jennings Lodge

Met our friends there! It was there 1st time! We have been there several times!

Came on a Friday night, it was understandably busy. Servers were great, but the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. The dining room is too dark to see your food and too loud for conversation. Drinks were all tasty. Food was just OK, considering the price. We had a large party (7 people) and everyone's food came lukewarm. Overall, left feeling like this place is overrated

I have really enjoyed Matador over the years. I enjoy the fajitas especially. I purchase for a fanily of three who are light eaters. Lately I have noticed the prices increasing while the portions get smaller and smaller. I certainly appreciate the economic climate annnnd it is harder to rationalize the expense for the portion size. I ordered a quesadilla for a toddler and it was like a small snack or appetizer. Very delicious food with excellent cocktails. The queso was a bit too spicy for me, but I'm a white girl so I figure that my problem not theirs.

Enjoyed the food, incredible flavors....enchiladas verde.....drinks were top notch. Happy hour, great!
