Breakfast gem. Omelette was top notch. Fruit cup was fresh.
The food is delicious, but every time we've eaten here or ordered in we've had a problem. Today we ordered two sides of bacon $6 each! and only received one. When my partner called to ask about it, they basically said there's nothing he could do about it and emphasized how busy they were and that “things happen”. LOVED the food, atmosphere and server Brittany. The music was nice and low key jazz at 8am on a Sunday. We had the place to ourselves. The benedict was perfect, bacon crispy, and quality ingredients for the buscuits made from scratch. She even gladly made us 3/4 decaf coffee. Fuel cafe is a Portland treasure! Can't wait until they add LIVE music!
Simple cafe, nice atmosphere with good ingredients. Not cheap. Food in summary was bland. Had the waffle Benedict, a vegan bowl, and a side salad. The waffle had a good internal texture but needed some crunch. The eggs were a little overcooked. The hollandaise was impressively bland. Too much butter and not nearly enough lemon or cayenne. The bacon was not great. The vegan bowl was nice but also very bland and forgettable.
