Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint Jekyll Island

Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint is currently CLOSED for renovations. My rating does not reflect my experience. I hope to give it another try once it reopens.

I visited on a Sunday, and the food was excellent. We started with the bacon-wrapped shrimp and the Cajun crab dip as our appetizers, both of which were delicious, especially the dip! We nearly ordered a second one. For our main courses, two of our kids had the Juke burger with steak fries, and they enjoyed the burger. Our oldest son opted for the gumbo with a side of mac and cheese, which he liked. I went with the shrimp and grits, and it was tasty, while my husband had the ribs with a side of mac and cheese. The ribs were decent, but still enjoyable, and the mac and cheese was exceptional. The location was very pleasant as well! I look forward to returning if we find ourselves in the area again.

I absolutely adore this fantastic restaurant! As always, they were incredible. Be sure to save some space for the peach cobbler!

Horrible experience. Only 4 people working the tables. No bartender. We sat at bar and waited 15 minutes before anyone spoke to us and then another 20 minutes until I finally asked for the sweet tea I ordered. Place was filthy. Waitress never came back to see if we needed anything. And then to add insult to injury they put an 18% gratuity on my bill automatically for doing nothing...that just makes them even more lazy than they already were. Won't be surprised if they go out of business.

Fried chicken is something to try, amazingly different! Catfish fingers are good. Just good food here.
