We absolutely love Driftwood Bistro! As frequent visitors to Jekyll Island, we make it a priority to dine here at least once during each trip. We've tried a variety of dishes, and we’ve never been disappointed! My partner's favorite is the meat stew, while I enjoy trying different options each time we visit. Everything is fantastic, but it's hard to resist their wild Georgia shrimp! As for the sides, the squash casserole and sweet potato soufflé are extraordinary! Don’t miss out on their peach cobbler à la mode for dessert—it's delicious! Just be sure to check their hours, as they're only open on certain days and in the evenings. After dinner, we like to head over to Horton Pond across the street to see alligators, birds, and sweetwater turtles, or we take a stroll on the beautiful Driftwood Beach!
We ordered the grilled shrimp with squash casserole and roasted okra, as well as the stuffed pork with macaroni and collard greens. Everything was delicious, but the squash casserole was the best I've ever had, and they kindly gave me the recipe card. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, making the culinary experience truly exceptional. When we visit Jekyll Island again, this will definitely be the place we return to.
We had the best meal we've experienced on the island so far. I ordered the stuffed flounder with roasted okra and cabbage, and we started with fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. The roasted okra was the best I've ever tasted, and I've tried quite a bit in the past. Everything was fantastic!
