Nick's Family - Jefferson City

The staff at the restaurant were extremely polite and incredibly helpful, especially since it was our first visit.

I visited this restaurant for the first time, and while the chicken was decent, the rest of the meal left much to be desired. The mashed potatoes seemed like they were made from instant mix, and the tea was just basic Red Diamond. The portions were quite small and didn't justify the prices. A three-piece dark meat plate may sound filling, but I left still feeling hungry. Overall, my experience was disappointing. Although it was busy, our waitress hardly checked on us.

I ordered the tenderloin plate, and the tenderloin itself was really good. However, the eight French fries I paid extra for instead of the mashed potatoes didn't impress me. The green beans were unexpectedly spicy, almost like they were drenched in hot vinegar, which I didn't appreciate. Overall, I found the portions to be quite small for the $35 cost for two meals. I don't think I'll be returning.

Excellent food! Homestyle was great for our family.

This was our first time at Nick's. The food was delicious! It was the best fried catfish I've ever had. Our 3 1/2 yr old grandson loved the fried chicken and told our waitress how good it was. We look forward to coming back.
