El Sazon Mexican - Jefferson City

We enjoy dining here as a family. The food is consistently excellent, and the atmosphere is always inviting.

I walked in and the girl who seated us was very rude; she slammed the silverware on the table and then walked away. A few moments later, while we were patiently looking over the menu, another couple was seated right next to us. They received their drinks immediately, and the waiter came to take their order, while no one had even acknowledged us yet. The hostess and a waitress just stared at us. We finally decided to get up and leave. I’ll never know if the food is good because I won’t be going back. It was such an odd experience, and the disrespect was uncalled for.

The parking lot was packed, which is always a positive indication. The restaurant was bustling on a Sunday afternoon, but we were seated promptly. Chips and salsa were brought to us quickly, and they were delicious. We both ordered beef taco salads, which arrived in no time and were also quite tasty. The check came swiftly, and checkout was efficient. The only downside was the ambiance; the ceiling definitely needs some attention, and the overall interior could use a refresh. My husband mentioned he wouldn't return for that reason.

Hands down-on the top 5 of Mexican restaurants. Thumbs up!
