Andres then showed us around the plantation, we even had to get a coffee from the plants before we are guided through the process of washing, selection, fermenting and drying the coffee. after the end of the tour, angela served us a wonderful lunch, which was mostly made with own products from the farm. (if they want to eat lunch) finally, we drank more coffee and bought several bags to take home. highly recommended for an authentic experience.
Based on reviews here I expected this to be a more pleasant visit, but that was really the perfect way to spend half a day. the host angela and others and their family are generous and knowledgeable. they greeted us in their house and business. with real style and friendliness. we had pre-booked to the breakfast, which was substantially and beautifully cooked (omelete, arepa, chorizo, bungalow, cheese and of course. coffee.) we stayed unexpected also for lunch. between the two meal times we had the complete 101 of the small coffee production of the harvest (in which we took part) for the processing of the beans that are ready to send over the cooperative into the market. this in spectacular lush green landscape and constantly visually distracted by birds so many different colors, shapes and sizes. instead of a tour that felt like a visit to good friends or family. one I've been remembering for many years and can't recommend very much. perfect!
A truly incredible place to visit and learn about natural small-scale coffee production. Andrés is a gracious host, and he explains everything in simple and clear Spanish so I could understand everything he was saying, even as relative beginner in the language. His farm is...beautiful, and the coffee itself in to die for. You can arrange with him one the phone the day before or the morning of, or it seems like it’s also ok to just show up as well. He offers one tour at 10 am and another at 1. We took the 12 PM public bus (chiva) and arrived around 12:30 but he welcomed us in and started the tour a little early. It’s 25 mil for the tour (40 mil with lunch maybe, but must be pre-arranged). I
Angela-Maria and Andrés were lovely. They showed us their farm and the process of coffee making. We got to taste coffee and they even cooked some platanos with guacamole. It‘s easy to get there by taxi and there‘s also a public transportation bus to take...you back to Jardín a few times a day. We contacted them on facebook. We‘d definitely recommend going!
Totalmente recomendable la visita a la Finca los Ángeles. Nos han enseñado sobre el cultivo, la recolección y el proceso...More
