Mateo's - Jacksonville

This restaurant is tucked away quite well, but it boasts an incredible atmosphere within a brewery that offers a variety of house-made beers. My wife and I ordered a pizza and a burger topped with Swiss cheese, bacon, and spinach. We shared both dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them. The burger was delicious; the bacon was thick but surprisingly overcooked. The pizza, however, was the best I've had in this area—true New York style. It had a deliciously crispy yet fluffy crust, with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Everything was perfectly balanced, and I was really impressed! Next time, I’ll definitely make sure to get a table inside!

While visiting Jacksonville for the weekend, we stopped by for some Bold City beer (delicious!). To my surprise, Mateos, this small establishment, offered some of the best freshly made pizza I've ever had—anywhere! It was simply outstanding.

This place is truly a hidden gem! I've visited many times and am always excited to try the new dishes they add. The staff is consistently friendly and makes you feel very welcome. If you're looking for a local beer paired with some of the best bar food, this is the spot to come!

This is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Jax. My husband and I often talk about how delicious the food is. I almost always order the pizza because of how good it is, but his burgers, cheesesteaks and grilled cheese are amazing too! Honestly you won?t regret whatever you get.

Service here is always great. I think it's the owner, but the man who's always there is so kind. Food is good too! I recommend a smashburger, or one of the grilled cheese options. French fries are the bomb, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect.
