Gone Awol Cafe - Jacksonville

We stayed here (4 seniors) on a trip back from obx. we were looking for a non-Franchise place to spend our money. they have a limited menu of various hot dogs or paninis (and an salad offer) and eating is very cheap. we prepared for the worst and were very pleasantly surprised how good it was to eat. bonus for those so interested many old time flipper machines available. also many marine memorabilia. good place for some fast, inexpensive food.

This is a wonderful place to honor veterans and service members. The walls are adorned with the rich history of various military units. I was particularly pleased to see memorabilia from the unit I served with in Iraq.

My wife and I were searching for hot dogs nearby while we were doing some Christmas shopping, and we accidentally discovered a hidden gem! They have Hahn beer, several pinball machines, delicious comfort food, and of course, amazing hot dogs with all the toppings! We’ll definitely be coming back.

This place is amazing! The atmosphere is very relaxed and fun. There are plenty of options to choose from. I tried the dead awol hot dog, and it was fantastic. I absolutely love the flipper machines! I will definitely be coming back regularly.

Cute little cafe, have beer on tap bottles. Good quick easy food. Love the arcade right next door. Jessie is the best, we love her! Neat spot for a cute date night.
