Basil Thai Sushi - Jacksonville

I really enjoy both the food and the decor at this restaurant. It has a clean, modern atmosphere. The dishes are delicious, though they can be quite spicy. They have a spice scale from 1 to 5; the last time I ordered a level 3, and it felt like my mouth was on fire! This time, I chose a level 2, which was still pretty spicy but very flavorful. I think I’ll go for a level 1 next time. I had the Garden Fresh, which includes fresh vegetables, jasmine rice, and your choice of meat—so tasty! I also absolutely love the pad Thai. Additionally, since we work downtown, it's just a short walk away for us.

This Thai restaurant serves exceptionally delicious food. Despite being situated in a former gas station, stepping inside completely changes your perception. The decor is sophisticated and welcoming. They offer a wonderful selection of both Thai cuisine and sushi, and both are outstanding. I usually opt for the pad Thai, which is generously sized for sharing between two people. Just a heads-up about their spice levels, which range from 1 to 10. I usually enjoy spicy food, but after choosing a level 3, I found myself gulping down about 10 glasses of water! I suggest going with a level 2 for a safer experience.

This place is usually outstanding. The food is amazing, and the service is consistently reliable. However, tonight was a different experience. I brought a group of friends who were visiting for the first time, all eager for some Thai cuisine, but it ended up being a mistake. They were short-staffed, and the hostess appeared completely overwhelmed. She repeatedly overlooked a couple next to us who had reservations and seemed to be seating people at random. We tried to speak with the manager, but he seemed indifferent and unaware of what was happening. Unfortunately, we never got seated and left without being able to eat. I think I’ll stick to visiting for lunch in the future, as the service tends to be much better then.
