Went here as a family and it was so lovely. The service was soo good, we shared the salad and Iberian ham to start, then I had the tuna steak, husband had the goat slow cooked, and my daughter had the Iberian sirloin, all served with potatoes and some veg. Followed by local milk desert and an excellent coffee. We will definitely return here, just good old authentic Spanish home cooked food
Four of us visited this lovely restaurant last night as we drive past it everyday and hadn’t made the effort to eat here. What a huge mistake on our part! The food was simply wonderful! The service professional yet friendly and the prices fair for the quality of the dishes. We WILL be going back and taking other friends when they come to visit. We got this tip from someone's blog. We went there just to find out what it was like and we haven't regretted it. The restaurant is very nicely situated, up on a hillside above or near Benamocarra. The exit you want is number 265 on the A7 near Velez Malaga. The name of the place, Iznate, is on the road signs. We had veal in a raisin sauce, which was very nice. The restaurant also produces its own Muscatel wine which we had for the dessert, and we liked it very much and asked if we could buy some to take with us and the very service-minded staff immediately returned with the wine in a plastic soft-drink bottle. This is the place to go if you want to avoid the tourist traps and eat nice everyday traditional Spanish food, which means that a lot of Spanish people go here too, especially if you pick a Sunday around two o'clock for your visit.
