Antlers - Ithaca

Standard qualifier, I'm a tough rater. Antlers is a very good place to eat, a long-time area establishment. This was our first visit for brunch and we enjoyed our time and food this morning. We started with sharing an excellent bowl of lobster bisque! Mywife had eggs Benedict with gluten-free toast. She said it was very good and thought the hollandaise sauce could have been alittle tangier. I chose the blueberry waffles with home fries. I added an egg over medium on top of the home fries. The waffleswere ok perhaps a bit dry. I'd get them again, only I would order without powdered sugar and I prefer maple syrup. The overmedium egg was perfectly prepared! The service and wait staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to visit and enjoytheir many offerings.

I had the prime rib special and was hoping it would be hotter. The green bean side was a little more underdone than I would prefer. The mashed potatoes and cornbread hit the spot for me. Service was good and quality of food was there. A littleoverpriced but it was a good overall experience that would get me to come in again to try another meal.

I had heard through the grape vine this restaurant was a local favorite. It has many antlers hanging on the wall along with other dead animals giving it the old mountain cabin feel and name. I was taken to my table and then waited. Finally the hostesstook my order because the waitress had not even said hello after 10 minutes. I found the menu quite pricey. I got a cup oflobster bisque soup $8.00. This very small cup of soup which cost a fortune should have been filled with lobster. ????, Thissoup was a bunch of cream and a couple thin shredded lobster. Then I ordered a 1/4 rack of ribs $10. Let me say, them was someDry Bones. The service was mediocre at best. Disappointed ????

Antler’s catered our wedding on August 12, 2022 for ~150 people. We cannot recommend them enough! We chose antlers because it is by far our favorite restaurant in the area because of the food, service and ambiance. From the delicious food, amazingservice and prompt and thorough delivery, we were beyond happy. We had so many guests come up to us and tell us the food wasamazing and we even heard a few “this is the best wedding food I’ve ever had” (WOW)!! This is exactly why we chose TheAntler’s to cater for us. Scott, the owner, deserves a special shout out for his impeccable communication. Thanks to him,having happy and fed guests was not something we had to worry about. We absolutely recommend to anyone for a casual meal or foryour catering needs. Thanks again, Antlers!

Being from Texas, I don’t typically think of New York as the prime location for southern style BBQ. However, the Antlers just bought a smoker and are putting out some top notch BBQ! Great meat, excellent sides (get the hot honey cornbread), and a reallygood dessert selection. 5 stars, and two sticky, barbecue covered thumbs up!
