While my previous visit was good, today's roast was exceptional. The potatoes were crispy and fresh, and I always enjoy the vegetables that accompany the roast. The lamb shank was incredibly tender, though I felt it could have used a bit more flavoring such as rosemary and garlic infused into the meat. Despite that, it was still a great meal. My companions had the chicken and pork dishes and found them thoroughly enjoyable. Personally, I would have preferred they bring back the pork loin as I do not care for belly meat, but my friend loved it so it's a matter of personal preference. The restaurant was busy and we had to wait about 5 minutes for our table, but they were able to accommodate my disabled mother who cannot stand for long periods of time. The only disappointment was that they refused to turn on the heating. Considering the amount we spent, I believe it wouldn't have hurt them to do so, even just for the duration of our meal. I tend to get cold easily due to a health issue, but everyone else seemed comfortable temperature-wise. It is worth noting that they do not have a disabled bathroom, likely due to the age of the building, so I can't fault them for that. Overall, I would recommend this place for Sunday lunch as well as a pint during the week.
We recently held a music quiz at Sekforde in their basement. The atmosphere was fantastic, with quirky and cozy decor. The food, especially the chips, was delicious and the staff were outstanding. They went above and beyond to assist us with setting up and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Thank you so much!
I recently visited The Sekforde for Sunday roast with the owner, who happens to be an old friend of mine, and had a wonderful afternoon. The atmosphere at The Sekforde is truly delightful, with friendly staff, a beautifully restored Georgian interior, and fresh flowers adding to the charm. The absence of loud music and flashing lights allows for a peaceful dining experience, with delicious food and wine being the focus. The Sunday roasts are excellent, ranked as the 3rd best in London by the Evening Standard. The desserts, such as bread and butter pudding and rhubarb crumble, are also outstanding. Whether you're looking for a relaxing meal with friends, family, or even with babies or well-behaved dogs, The Sekforde is the perfect choice. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We both had an excellent Sunday roast. The meats were nice (the chicken was our favourite), the roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the vegetables were good quality and cooked to perfection. The staff were all really friendly and attentive. Great reasonably priced roast.
Thanks a lot for the excellent food and service. We had a great time last night and will no doubt be back.
