Most of my feedback on the poor quality of the meal was directed to the manager when I paid, and I didn’t ask for any discount; I settled the bill in full without hesitation. Honestly, there was nothing enjoyable about the meal. The children's squid starter was mediocre at best, and it was the only highlight among the five dishes we ordered. I could detail all the disappointing aspects, but I will focus on my own experience instead. I ordered the mussels in white wine and cream as a starter, priced at £15.95. I expected something special given the price, but what I received was around 12-15 mussels with hardly any of the usual creamy cooking liquor at the bottom of the bowl, and there was no bread included; that cost extra. For nearly 16 quid, I was very unimpressed, especially since I often order mussels online from Scotland for £3.50 per kilogram. I doubt I even had half a kilogram of mussels on my plate. That’s quite a markup! The biggest disappointment was the prawns in curry, which sounded delicious and were priced at £19.95. What arrived looked like a dish made in a high school home economics class, containing about seven prawns, two florets of cauliflower, and what seemed like a packet of Blue Dragon sauce. I must say the rice was good, but my kids can make rice just as well. I expressed my disappointment with the entire meal when I was paying, and I was just glad to leave. I’m really disheartened to see how significantly this once four-star restaurant has declined. After returning to our holiday cottage, I came across all the shocking reviews of the Lobster Pot, with not a single response from the owners. This tells me they aren't too concerned about customer feedback. My wife and I had a reservation for a special dinner this Friday night, but you won’t be surprised to hear that I would like to cancel it. I will call to confirm the cancellation, as it’s clear you don’t pay attention to the reviews for your business. Please, for your own sake, sort things out.
I absolutely adore crab, so I decided to start with the crab fishcakes. They were incredibly delicious! The dish came with a light salad featuring an amazing dressing. I couldn't resist having crab for my main course as well, and I'm so glad I did. To top it all off, I enjoyed a cappuccino and a glass of port. What a wonderful meal!
We had an excellent lobster meal here. I don’t really understand all the negative reviews. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly. We chose to sit outside under a covered terrace with our dog (though there are a few dog-friendly tables indoors, we had booked too late for those). The atmosphere was lovely...
First visit in 5 years and what a disappointment. Very limited menu (no crab!! and the prices do not match the product or quality. £38 for a small lobster with a pile of chips and £29 for a steak with a pile of chips is an insult restaurants in London would not charge this much. No draft beers, £5.40 for a half pint bottle of ale and staff look disinterested and don’t have a clue about the menu. This used to be a highlight of visiting Anglesey, but the restaurant looks like it has lost its way.
Completely overpriced average food. Had small crab cakes 14.95 then the smallest lobster probably legal to catch 37.95. They must have seen us coming ! Don't bother
