They tell you not to fill with the fish soup so that you can eat more of the fish, but it is so difficult because the soup is so absolutely amazing! Probably top 2 soups in Iceland along with the one in the doctor's house. The cod cheeks were my favorite, but everything was delicious. Even the supplements are very good. I really enjoy having fresh fruit and light vegetables that are not so common in other restaurants. I went home, could hardly move after I had eaten so much. Shout to the blonde guy who speaks Spanish and explains how everything works very funny, he was very helpful and friendly for us. Also the very high waiter was very friendly. The whole staff was great. 10/10 would come back if I ever came back to this part of the world.
Don't miss this little jewel of a restaurant. It is a special experience. The food is amazing, especially the fish soup. But even better is just trying the whole experience to try all kinds of different fish, all good, and for an excellent price! One of the highlights of our whole trip to Iceland. Family owned. And so kind. The only proposal I would have is to number the tables and start the buffet more organized. In contrast, I would say it was a perfect experience and I highly recommend!
Skip navigation You don't have this restaurant! The best fish I've ever eaten from FAR. Recommend the full buffet experience. Cosy atmosphere with friendly staff and great music from a record player. We came here twice on our trip and loved it both times. Especially enjoyed the appetizer fish soup. Worth the money!
Dinner here is amazing. Starts with an introduction, a soup and then many pages and fish dishes. Although it was a quiet autumn evening with only 14 or so guests, they brought 8 or so different fish dishes such as cod, cod, helibut, rainbow trout, wolffish, plaice and more! We met the owner, the owner's brother and the lady who lives in the museum next door! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Recommend this restaurant as a highlight of Iceland's seafood offerings!
Amazing gem! Stumbled upon this place at the recommendation of a local. Lovely service and hospitality. It was a fix price meal with multiple vegetable dishes including a fennel salad that was crisp with shavings of apple. The fish soup that started the meal was worth it all by itself. There was at least 7 separate fish dishes, each with different preparation. They were so gracious to make a separate pan of fish for me upon hearing I had celiac disease. This was above and beyond anything I could have expected. The host shared with us some dill Brenevin his wife had made. The host rotated through a wonderful selection of vinyl throughout the night. Cannot recommend this place enough.
