Fish City Grill - Irving

I visited a lovely restaurant where I enjoyed delicious grilled oysters and fresh oysters on the half-shell along with a delightful **** Mary cocktail. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and welcoming.

I must start by saying that the COVID-19 pandemic unfortunately forced the closure of our two favorite seafood restaurants. Additionally, I am not a big fan of Cajun-style seafood, personally.

This used to be our favorite restaurant, but unfortunately our experience this time was disappointing. My partner and I were guests before the pandemic and were excited to dine here again.

Delicious food. We had it delivered by Favor and it was so yummy. Even the fries were seasoned to perfection and I have never ever actually eaten hush puppies, because I think they are dry and gross but holy cow they have amazing hush puppies that are so fabulous! If my husband had any I would’ve eaten his too. I had the beer battered cod, and normally I need ketchup for my fish, but nope, it was yummy without. Perfectly battered, and so much flavor!

The food and service were excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We mentioned it was our first time there and were given a variety of samples, including oyster tacos, crab bisque, clam chowder, red beans sausage, and gumbo. Everything we tried was delicious, especially the crab bisque which had real crab meat in it. My cousin ordered the shrimp grits, which looked fantastic. I am usually hesitant to order shrimp grits at restaurants, but I would definitely order them from this place. It is a great spot for a casual lunch. I cannot speak for their happy hour or dinner options, but I highly recommend their lunch menu.
