Southern Spice - Irvine

Very bad experience. My friend asked me to visit this Indian restaurant. I visited today with great expectations. Dosa was fine, but onion Chili utapam was very raw and watery, I told one of the guys on the desk, he took uttapam back and came back to my table saying that it was because of onion. He thought I was eating Utapam for the first time, the behavior of the cook and this guy wasn't supporting. He didn't even offer to replace it. We never expected such a bad service. I decided not to go back there. Disappointed with food and service. Thank you?

One of my friends has addressed this place when I said I would like to try a restaurant that does not use regular red creamy curries in the name of Indian food. We ordered Hyderabadi mutton biryani, kothu parotta, Chicken tikka. Biryani was good, had equal amount of meat pieces, kothu parotta was average felt that the parotta was not sufficiently cooked before it mined, tikka is ok. The ambience is beautiful, they have a few swings table at the entrance that is unique. Try it.

They have become commercial. We ordered methu vada and the Chutney was not just enough for those so we asked for some. They asked to order by app. I and my friend dint like the service. The waiter was pretty rude when we asked for water. Since we're new, we don't know how the system is. We dint like customer service and their too commercial way of ordering meals. Vijaywada biryani was fine. Idyllic combo was fine and Dosa was fine. They had dint AC on them said that A.C was broken, at this burning Californian heat at least because of courtesy they should place fan.

A good place to have an authentic Indian cuisine. All dishes here North Indians or South Indians are great in taste....as Indians themselves I can say that. The parts are big. Huge parking and clean toilets?. Then delay in service can be overfilled. A great place to visit for Indian food lovers?????

Food here is delicioussssss BEST indian food ive had in OC, full of flavor, the place is decorated nice and traditional. The only thing ill say is be prepared to wait or help yourself. Its extremely busy there all the time and they dont have enough staff to handle all the dine-in customers and take out orders. This place is super popular and i can see why. Check out my photos.
