This place is authentic and the portions are generous. The chef is originally from Sichuan, making the food better than many other places in Irvine that also serve Sichuan dishes. The mapo tofu here is the best I have had in the United States. When I lived on the East Coast, I would eagerly wait to fly back to California just to come here and order it.
I absolutely love the cold dishes at Chingqing. The meat quality is good, although the portions are small. The atmosphere is not very quiet, but it's still good.
The quality of the restaurant has declined compared to a few years ago. The online ordering system does not provide instructions to the cook, but fortunately, the staff honored our request in person and adjusted our order accordingly.
Very good chongqing style kitchen! it is hard to find soft braided tofu around irvine and I am glad that they have it here.
Relatively authentic sichuan food not spicy enough for my taste. Presentation is sloppy and prices are on the high side.
