I love gyros and always seek them out wherever I go. Apola has revolutionized the typical messy eating experience with their innovative wrap method. I have never seen a gyro that is so easy to eat without any dripping. It was delicious!
The manager of Arab descent was extremely impolite. I recall a situation in the past where he was very curt with me when I inquired about the menu. They do not even have a contact number for the company or a general manager to ensure that their staff are behaving professionally. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the manager does not even wear a name tag.
Food was super salty. The pork gyros was dry. We arrived 40 mins before closing time and they were mopping and taking the food away to fridges. The employee was actually putting the fries with her hands in and out the frying machine. The spicy feta sauce tasted weird. Definitely not going back.
Apola serves Greek fast food, which is pretty good but not great. I have to disclose that I am Greek, and I know how a good gyro is supposed to taste, so I am biased. Having said that, I am glad they are here since when we get a craving for gyro, it is the only place close by that will do the trick. I wish they would crispy up their pork a little bit more and change the order they assemble the pita. I watched the guy spread the tzatziki over the whole pita, and I wanted to scream noooo, but I decided to be polite. The yogurt from the tzatziki moistens the pita and ruins the texture. Likewise, the tomato slices should be thinner and add fewer French fries. I wish they would also serve pita with souvlaki made from whole lamb meat and not from a ground mix, but I am probably asking too much.
