Bixa - Irapuato

I was without any expectation on the restaurant but since I arrived until I left all the moments were great. The staff and the chef seemed to do anything with passion and professionalism. I’m impressed with the good food, the service and the place, everything is done with the perspective of the customer, e.g. individual cabins for the restrooms.

This is a small restaurant off the beaten path and the path is well beaten with just cause. Food is excellent, and specialized to the Mayan area around Irapuato. There are tacos with tongue, raw tuna, and ant larvae (espalones quite tasty!! for those looking for something different, but also more conventional types. Entrees are small to look at, but with an appetizer and main course I was pretty full. Had the Don Julio Setente Tequila as an aperitif and it is EXCELLENT. Also try the Michelada a Mexican cross between a **** Mary and a Beer very refreshing. All in all superb with great service.

Took my folks to Bixa to celebrate dad's 75th birthday and we were very impressed. The service was professional and attentive. The food was excellent, everything we had, from the complimentary amuse to dessert was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The wine list has a huge selection of Mexican wine, outstanding! Will definitely visit again next time we're in Irapuato.

The service from the waiters is very good. The courtesy starter is excellent, this is more a Yucatán food restaurant. The entree’s were not great, careful with the bones in the pork meat. The house wine is very good. It’s scary the way that the entrance is controlled, they call to the inside to let you in. You feel like you’re in a safe house. It’s pricy for what you get.

"Among us"...Te platico que para nosotros el estar en Bixa es como sentirnos en nuestra casa, es sin duda la opción numero 1 en Irapuato, pero todo se debe al buen trabajo que se realiza ahi.Todo perfectamente bien coordinado , desde que te toman tu carro para estacionarlo, llevarte a tu mesa, llevar tus bebidas, sugerirte opciones del día, pasar a preguntarte repetidas veces si todo es de nuestro agrado y estamos bien. Es sin duda el reflejo y trabajo constante para estar en el lugar del cliente, el de hacerlo sentir confortable, con buena música de fondo o si es el caso de poner un buen partido de fut. Te recomiendo ampliamente a que lo conozcas y disfrutes de las maravillas gourmets que te presentan. En esta ocasión se festejaba aniversario del restaurante y por lo mismo hicieron una pequeña producción de vino "M" (Margarita), que maravilla nos encantó y deleitamos nuestro paladar con la desgustación de este fabuloso vino con la originalidad , buena preparación y presentación de cada uno de los platillos. Te recomiendo pruebes los ricos tacos de lengua, de pato, de chile relleno, la ensalada de espinaca con laminas de parmesano está deliciosa, ...la cochinita es de mis favoritos platillos, así como el carpaccio de res y el pescado en salsa blanca. Bixa y todo su extraordinario personal nos atendieron fabuloso, nos otorgaron de cortesía unos ricos digestivos al final de nuestra estancia, los cuales agradecemos mucho.
