Stonehouse Bar & Grill - Iqaluit

I've been to this place many times while my 4,5 month work in Iqaluit. The food is pretty good for pub standards. One wine is about 9-50 and one canned beer (0.33) is 6-50. There are times when you can get there a tap beer too (usually between July and February). My favorite food there is caribou burger with sweet potato chips. Really miss it in Ontario :). They have special days there in the pub like "Wednesday half-price wings" when you get 20 wings for 14 bucks. Pretty good deal and attracts lots of people. The place is pretty large and usually you don't have an issue to find a free table however when the local guys have their pay check day you can wait to be seated for about 30 min

Nice atmosphere, really rustic look to the place with animal hides, barnwood style tables and high ceilings. Good beer menu and solid pub food. Just need bigger tv screens to play sports on - make it more of a sports bar, or at least make one section of the pub into a sports bar section. Bar also has trivia night, which is a fun time with pals.

It was Friday night and the restaurant was very busy but we were accommodated easily and with minimal wait of fuss. Our waiter was pleasant, knowledgable and not over attentive (just right). Food and wine were pricey but well cooked and presented and portions were sufficient but not overly generous (fine by me). Food was cooked and presented in a reasonable time. We also had breakfast and a similar story. Good food well prepared but relatively high dollar.

Business co-workers and I went to Stonehouse Bar and Grill for supper while on a business trip to Iqaluit. Unfortunately due to health issues I couldn't eat, which was extremely upsetting as the Muskox burgers they had looked and smelled delicious. They loved them! And I might add, had a hard time finishing them as they were Huge!

Not a bad atmosphere but can be very drafty in the winter due to the layout around the entrance. Service can be very slow at times but there can be a large crowd with few staff. As with any bar, there can be occasional trouble from people who get too drunk but other than that it is a great little pub to hang out with friends especially on wing night.
