The soup served with Birria tacos at Los Agave on North High may be a little better, but the salsas at Poblonitas are far superior, giving them the edge. Something that is personally important to me is that they do not charge extra for a roasted jalapeño, unlike other places such as Los Agaves where it costs at least $1 for one pepper. Additionally, there is no extra charge for more salsa or adding cheese to your tacos. If you want to add avocado, it's only $1 for all three tacos. My only complaint is that a single chili relleno costs $8, but they are so good that I still order them. They recently increased the price of a can of soda from $1 to $2, which I believe is still too high, but I won't deduct a star because soda is overpriced everywhere. Overall, I would give this place three stars. While it may not compare to the best taco spots in other cities, it is better than any other taco place I have tried in Columbus, earning them a five-star rating.
I tried the birria tacos at this restaurant tonight... oh my goodness, they were so delicious! I have had birria at several other places before, but this was hands down the best. Hats off to La Pablonita!! This dish was truly special and I will be ordering it every time it's available. I have been coming to this place for over 5 years and have never been disappointed. I also love their chorizo.
