Service could have had more frequent check ins, but we were tucked back on the patio, so I'm sure we were easy to forget. Plus we enjoyed the relaxing quiet time looking at the garden. Atmosphere dressy casual. I felt foolish arriving in a hoodie and athletic tights as a result of reading that dress code was casual. It's not this is a lovely special place with a charming homey interior and lovely patio.
After a very pleasant luncheon experience some months ago, we decided to try it for our wedding anniversary on a Saturday evening. Called for reservations and got them but found out they would have live music. We almost decided against going but kept the reservation. They did ask if it was a special event and we mentioned the anniversary. Arrived and were seated on time. Our room in the house was very nice with only 3 tables there. Live music was in the adjacent room. We were surprised when opening the menu the top of first page wished us a Happy Anniversary. Personalized menu was an excellent touch. (It was ours to keep. The food was excellent my shrimp and grits were very good and very tasty. My wife has stuffed artichokes and loved them. Pricing was very reasonable. Dessert was a chocolate cake without flour and soooo creamy excellent. Oh yes, the music. Turned out it was VERY NICE very pleasant background music you know it is there and you know it is good but there is NO interference with talking at the table. Loved it!! Overall EXCELLENT. But I will not eat on their outdoor patio with the dogs allowed there. Never allow this in an upscale restaurant NEVER!!
Absolutely amazing food with a great atmosphere. The food got better with every dish and the key lime pie was hands down the best I have ever had! I highly recommend this little spot to anyone looking for a nice relaxing food experience.
I 'm visiting from out of town and brought my dad here for lunch today. He had never been because, despite living 5 minutes away, he didn 't know it existed (not an avid yelper, as you can imagine). Our meal was un-frickin-believable. By far the best meal I 've ever had in Inverness. To quote my 62-year-old father (who never swears), It was f*cking amazing. The food is pricey, but well worth it. We shared the baked feta appetizer and the stuffed artichoke hearts, which were both delicious. I had the hot beef and cheddar sandwich, which comes with a horseradish sauce that add just enough bite without overpowering the other flavors. My dad had the turkey sandwich with sliced apples and apple butter mayo, which he raved was the best turkey sandwich [he 's] ever had. Then we shared the piña colada bread pudding. Oh. My. God. Absolutely to die for. Overall it was a fantastic meal, the outdoor seating was peaceful and beautiful, and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. I took a peek inside the restaurant to see what it looked like, and it is adorable. A restored historic house with several small rooms and a four-season room, all filled with a few tables each. I wish I was staying in town longer so I could go back for dinner! I hope this place sticks around for a long time, because I will certainly be back every time I visit!
