What really deterred us from returning was the long wait time between ordering and receiving our food. Waiting 45 minutes with young children in our party was not acceptable, and the kids in the restaurant became restless during the wait. Despite booking our table for 5pm, a seemingly slower time, the restaurant was not busy and the staff seemed unable to provide prompt service for the few tables they were dealing with.
The staff at this restaurant provided excellent service, they were very welcoming, attentive and polite. The food was delicious with a great selection on the menu. This was our first visit but we will definitely be back and would highly recommend it to others.
Took my dad here for Father’s Day lunch as we had not been since it has been taken over. We were welcomed and shown to our table over looking the marina which was stunning. I ordered the prawn cocktail to start which was so refreshing and a lovely alternative to the traditional prawn cocktail. For main I had the Korean steak sandwich. I wasn’t sure how the Korean take on a steak sandwich would be but it was delicious, the waitress told us the meat was from the local butcher which was a nice touch to know the food was locally sourced. My dad had the lasagne which I thought was a safe choice but it wasn’t your normal lasagne it was amazing. We didn’t have much space for desert but decided to share a cheese board. The waitress chatted to us about the different red wines on the menu and helped us chose a lovely red to go with our cheese board. Over all very impressed and looking forward to going back to try the rest of the menu.
Visited for Father’s Day dinner. From the set menu we ordered an anti pasti board to share and a soup to start. Both of the starters were well sized portions and we all enjoyed. For mains we ordered lasagne, chicken in leek and mustard sauce and a steak pie. All of the mains were full of flavour and we all enjoyed our meals. Staff were very helpful and attentive making sure we were enjoying our meal and ensuring we had everything we needed. Very happy with our visit and will definitely be back in the future.
Sadly very disappointed., Not been for a few years as we now live overseas, but compared to what it was live when Kevin ran it, it 's mediocre at best. Stater of prawn cocktail at £7.95 is grossly over priced for a couple of lettuce leaves, handful of small prawns, some mango and a dribble of shop bought sweet chili sauce. OK but not for a place like this. Main courses, two were sent back as the chicken was clearly re-heated and now chewy. Replaced with two other dishes. Mum in Law had lasagne, rubbish, not hot, clearly made in a large dish and reheated, how about getting a chef that can actually make individual meals and present them properly. My steak pie was good, but veg inadequate, and again, the presentation below average. Service from some of the staff was excellent but other youngsters clearly not trained to a proper standard. Given a discount but at £40 a head something better should be expected. Very disappointed, and will never return until a proper chef is employed. Buckleys, over priced for very average and in some cases poor food. Go elsewhere, is my recommendation.
