We ordered the dude taco, the Cajun shrimp, the Acadiana, the patty wagon, a side of fries, Cajun street corn, and beignets. The burger was great, and comes with standard fixings: lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. My bf really loved it because the pickle slices are really thick and completely covered the burger instead of just half. Not really a smash burger, a bit too thick for that title. The tacos were really good and the tortillas tasted fresh. The salsa was really good as well, even with tacos you wouldn't think they would be like the Acadiana.Corn salsa was really good, not too spicy and the Cajun seasoning on the fries was delicious!! The highlight of the meal were the beignets. Sooo good!! Crispy and sweet on the outside and soft on the inside.
I've only been there once so maybe my experience was a one time deal but when I got my order, the rice was hot and cold in spots.. like they microwaved it and didn't stir before serving. The taco I got was amazing, the flavors just out of the world but at $5+, it was a steep price to pay.. specially when the flour shell was ice cold. Just seems to me the kids running the place need a manager. Still, I will give them one more try.
Really good!!! Had the gumbo of course and the lettuce wrap shrimp roumalade. The gumbo was super but I prefer my chicken pieces rather than shredded. The shrimp and sauce were yum but the lettuce was wilted and hard to pick up so only 4stars. Will definitely try again!!!
So we tried the Smokey porker, chips and gaucsalsa ,Cajun shrimp taco and the breakfast taco. Long with two mini Q. So my favorite was the breakfast taco and the gaucsalsa. Good flavor cooked nice. The only negative was the phone given at end of my order was a cell phone not the restaurant's number.
I haven't written a review in a long time. This one started with an article about gumbo, and that Amigeauxs was selling gallons of it every day. I LOVE gumbo, but it sure is hard to find in this part of the country. The gumbo drew me in and friends it is excellent. Went back with my daughter to get more gumbo and we decided to split the Tijuana Cheesesteak sandwich, too. Hoiy barbacoa... With my first bite of that sandwich I felt sorry for myself for eating so much average food so often. I was back again with my brother, who lives on the north side of Chicago. He wanted to know how Joliet gets a place like Amigeauxs before one opens in Chicago. Seriously, we're lucky to have food of this quality available to us. Go get some gumbo and tell your friends. Take a pass on another boring cheeseburger or sub sandwich. Treat yourself right and eat outstanding food.
