Steak 'n Shake - Indianapolis

I stopped by on a Monday afternoon to grab some chili and a drink, but to my surprise, the restaurant was closed. There were no cars in the parking lot, no one at the drive-thru to take orders, and the window was unattended. The doors were locked, and there were no signs indicating that they were closed. Several other cars arrived but were also unable to enter or get service. If you're going to be closed, it would be helpful to inform potential customers about it and when you might reopen. I’ve always experienced friendly staff (when they are open), and the food is consistently hot and fresh. It's really disappointing to see this location facing so many problems. It’s no wonder that so many restaurants have closed in the Indianapolis area...

The parking lot is a great spot to relax and spend some time with the kitten I found on the street. I also really enjoyed the shake I ordered!

The price for a burger and fries is just $4.99, which is quite reasonable. The only downside is that they have adjusted happy hour for half-priced shakes from 2-5 PM to 2-4 PM. Overall, the prices are still excellent.

It was quite good overall. I rated it 4 stars mainly because of the menu. They don't offer any chicken sandwiches or salads.

The food was decent, but the service left a lot to be desired. I had to wait quite a while before my order was taken, and then I received the wrong meal. I went inside to correct the order I'd placed from my car and ended up standing there for 10 minutes trying to resolve the issue.
