Capri Italian Indianapolis

I love a good authentic Italian weekend dinner and when I saw the reviews I immediately made reservations for Capri. I thought I was early when I reached at 6, but the restaurant was packed. First off professional and extremely good service. The grilled eggplant marinated in oil, garlic and red pepper was sheer delight. Mozzarella in Instalata caprese was as fresh as it could get. Main course ravioli aurora with spinach and ricotta was as good as it got but the Fettucine Del Golfo with tomato and shrimp was the star of the day. We were satisfied and happy customers! Highly recommend for a truly authentic experience!

Wonderful lunch at Capri! I grew up coming here my dad and stepmom even had their wedding reception here. It's one of the few Indy restaurants I miss now that I live in California. I took my mom (who still lives in Indy) to Capri for lunch and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant still looks wonderful and it was great to hear that Arturo retired (but still owns the building) and a new generation of entrepreneurs has taken it over and retained the same quality. Lunch is a great deal you can get smaller portions of house made pasta dishes and full sized starters for a lower price than dinner. They also have seafood, steaks, chicken, and chef specials. I started with a house smoked salmon salad and a glass of sparkling rosé. Both were delicious. For my entree, I had Fettucine del Golfo with white wine sauce and my mom had Linguine alle Vongole with white wine sauce. Both were absolutely delicious! Mom said the Linguine alle Vongole was just like the kind my grandma used to make (and we still have the recipe). Our server, John, was extremely friendly and attentive. All the other staff we interacted with were also very nice and efficient. A lovely lunch and great time spent with my mom.

Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere, very fair prices. My wife and I have been here multiple times and are always impressed with the menu’s new as well as the standard items. Wine and bourbon selections are incredible. They have been able to fit us in on the day of the reservation, but I recommend making a reservation in advance as it is a popular location. Take out has also worked well for us. This restaurant was also very accommodating to carry out during the pandemic.

Not only is the food amazing and the atmosphere Sinatra-ish, but the wait staff really knows what they are doing! My husband and I shared a wedge salad (it was plenty big). I had veal piccata and my husband had lasagna. Everything was delicious and good sized portions. We saved room for dessert- ricotta cake with strawberries, and a slice of chocolate cake. So good! We’ve been here several times, and it’s always wonderful!

If delicious perfectly executed classic Italian cuisine, top notch wine and spirit selections and top notch service are what you're after then Capri is where it's at. Perfect for a romantic dinner, a business lunch or a big gathering of family and friends. You won't find another restaurant in Indy with such dedication to delivering a dining experience that is not only top notch, but consistent. This is the veal osso bucco I had 2 weeks ago. It was rich, tender and so flavorful! Combined with the bottle of super Tuscan I washed it down with, I slept like a baby that night!
