I'm a sucker for a company that invests back into the community and with a brand like Patachou Foundation, sustainable choices, and a food and youth-focused non-profit, dining at any of their restaurants is seriously a no-brainer. Cafe Patachou is one of my favorites and the King Ora Salmon Bagel is the best-smoked salmon Bagel in the midwest. The salmon has an excellent smoky flavor, and the garnishment comes together to deliver great big tastes. The menu offers breakfast classics with a conscious and the cafe is quaint and cute. I definitely recommend not just this restaurant, but any of the Patachou options across the city :
I had a negative experience this morning at Patachou. I sat at the bar, was greeted and given water, but then felt ignored. A server kept looking at me, possibly expecting me to place my order, but instead continued working with the coffee maker. Ultimately, I left and received better service at a more affordable, no-frills chain restaurant downtown. On a positive note, the water at Patachou was very good.
The food was as good as the lovely, colorful photos looked! I went on a Sunday and found a long line. No matter! It moved very quickly with the great service. Once seated, this is the sort of menu where you struggle because *everything* sounds delicious and fresh. I ultimately chose the power bowl which is loaded with kale, quinoa, and avocado, and then I paid extra to add smoked salmon. Oh my goodness! I loved it. Crunchy, fresh, light, bright. The only thing I might try is swapping out the dressing (a sort of ranch) for green goddess dressing.
Patachou on 49th is always spot on! This is one of my favorite local brunch spots. Their sourdough bread is unbeatable. Usually I go for the turkey sandwich (delicious), but I went with an omelette during my most recent visit. It was delicious, cheesy, and filling! The arugula salad is always good- never wilted. Chicken salad sandwich was great as well. The servers are always kind and during every visit we are asked about allergies. Much appreciated as we have allergies in our household. The featured coffee of the day is always a fun touch as well. Overall a warm, lively place to have an awesome brunch or lunch!
During our weekend visit to Indianapolis, my group debated whether to have Saturday brunch at Café Patachou or another restaurant. We ultimately chose Café Patachou and it was definitely the best decision we made that morning. The food was excellent and the service was top-notch. As a party of three, we were able to walk in, but had to wait approximately 30 minutes for a table. During the wait, we ordered coffee and hot chocolate at the counter inside the café and explored the neighborhood. When our table was ready, we received a text notification. Once seated, our server, Nicole, provided menu recommendations and even divided my omelette into two plates for my husband and I to share, without us even asking. We ordered The California Dreamer Omelette with added chicken, which came with Cinnamon toast, Croissant French toast, and a waffle with fruits from the kids menu. Every dish was fresh and delicious, especially the Cinnamon toast. I highly recommend trying it. The coffee, which was self-serve, was also excellent, with a special flavor of the day - snickerdoodle on the day we visited. I also enjoyed the preserve mimosa. The restaurant was very clean, the staff were friendly and attentive, and overall, our experience at Café Patachou was fantastic. I highly recommend this place.
